United Justice, a survivor-founded organization, works to protect and advance human rights, both locally and globally, by investigating and exposing abuses, advocating for meaningful policy change, and providing comprehensive support to survivors and victims. We operate across the Americas with a strong presence in Mexico.
In Mexico, human rights violations continue to rise, especially against the most vulnerable. Thousands of people have disappeared, women face extreme levels of gender-based violence, and entire communities live under the threat of organized crime and state neglect. These abuses are fueled by poverty, corruption, a broken justice system, and deep-rooted inequality. Journalists, migrants, Indigenous peoples, and human rights defenders are often targeted simply for speaking out. Our mission is to expose these violations, support survivors, and demand justice.
In Mexico, widespread human rights abuses are not only a national crisis, they’re also a major driver of forced migration. Every year, thousands of people flee Mexico in search of safety, justice, and dignity. Families escape extortion, violence, and threats from criminal groups, often with no protection from the State. Others leave after experiencing torture, wrongful detention, or the disappearance of loved ones. For many, migrating north becomes the only way to survive.
That reality is why we launched programs in the United States to support immigrant women who are survivors of human rights abuses. Many arrive carrying the trauma of violence, displacement, and systemic neglect, with little access to legal help, mental health services, or safe community spaces. Our programs offer culturally sensitive support, rights education, and direct advocacy to help women heal, rebuild, and lead. We believe that no one should have to navigate injustice alone, no matter where they come from.
